With each letter and parcel sent by post TEDi makes an active contribution to the climate protection, because since the beginning of 2011 the 1-Euro-Discounter participates in the GOGREEN shipping service of the Deutsche Post and DHL. The GOGREEN principle is simple and effective: For each posting, which is sent, the participating companies pay an additional contribution, because the carriage of letters and parcels creates climate-damaging carbon dioxide (CO2). With the money, the post supports internationally recognized environmental protection projects, such as the construction of wind farms in China or biomass power plants in India. The process is controlled annually by an independent testing institute in Switzerland, the Société Générale de Surveillance.
Thanks to its “green” shipping offers, the Post has been able to compensate solely in 2010 for more than 50.000 tons of CO2 for its customers. These have sent in 2010 made more than a billion of GOGREEN deliveries. And now TEDi is also present. “It is a great thing that our delivery services are now CO2-neutral” says the marketing director Carolin Steffens. The participation in the GOGREEN Service is an important step to improve the climate balance of the company.
